250 Unique Number Plates to be offered at RTA’s 50th Online Auction

The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced the schedule of its upcoming online number plate auction. A total of 250 unique number plates will be offered at the auction that is scheduled to start from 20th of August.

Since the beginning of this online event by RTA, these auctions have proved to be a great success and attracted wide public participation. The upcoming event is also more significant as it will be RTA’s 50th online number plate auction, a unique milestone achieved by RTA to satisfy the demands of its customers in Dubai.

What to expect at the 50th Online Auction?

As expected, there is plenty to look forward to at the 50th online auction for number plates’ enthusiasts. RTA is set to offer number plates with three, four and five digits under a range of alphabetical codes that include A, B, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R and S. A wide variety of plates with different combinations of numbers and codes will be available at the online auction. The auction will start at 8:00 AM on Sunday and continue for next five days. RTA has opened registrations from 13th of August and interested bidders can register online to participate in the RTA’s 50th online auction.

Registration Process for Interested Bidders

Interested bidders will need to get themselves registered for the upcoming online auction by opening an account through RTA’s website (www.rta.ae). It is mandatory for interested bidders to either have a vehicle registered in Dubai or have a Dubai based driving license in order to get themselves registered for the online auction.

Bidders will need to deposit a security cheque of AED 5,000 at any of the RTA’s Customer Happiness Centers located in Deira, Bur Dubai, Umm Al Ramool and the Al Twar Municipal Center. A participation fee of AED 120 needs to be deposited through RTA website in order to complete the registration process.

Payment Methods for Successful Bidders

Successful bidders will have to make the payments within 10 working days from the event’s closing date. The payments of up to AED 50,000 can be made in cash at any of the Customer Happiness Centers of RTA, but for higher payments, bidders will need to deposit a certified cheque or pay through credit card. The facility of paying online through credit card is also available for successful bidders. If payments are not made in time, it will result in blacklisting of the bidder’s name in RTA’s records.
