2013 Honda Civic

The 2013 Honda Civic is physical evidence that Honda has once again set new standards for the auto market. Before, the 2.2-liter diesel was the only engine of this type offered, but this year Honda introduced the 1.6-liter diesel. At first glance, it would seem that Honda made a mistake, but the Civic, with its new and improved engine, is a real force on the road. Those 300 ft.lbs. of torque that emerge from as low as 2000 revs/min will take on any hill, incline, steep grade  or road type in its path. It is rather remarkable what Honda managed to do with this engine and upon getting behind the wheel, the driver is left gasping for air in astonishment. From the outside, the most noticeable feature of this car is its design. The machine comes together in a futuristic shape. With the optional sports package, the Civic takes on a more meaningful presence. Not that the standard exterior isn’t striking enough, but it maintains more of an athletic stance. The nose of the car is different that what we’ve seen on Honda’s previous hatchbacks. The rear of the car may not be as appealing as the front, mainly because of the rear wing. However, Honda claims that the wing has been designed to minimized drag and improve fuel economy. The inside of the car carries over the futuristic trend that we see becoming popular over a period of years. This time, the dials are easier to read, reach and the dash is clean and uncluttered. It is also angled more toward the driver with the overall finish of the interior feeling more like a luxury vehicle, yet durable as ever. Controls on the steering wheel are easy to understand and avoid overwhelming the driver with an array of buttons. With all of that, the true diamond can be found in the engine. This 1.6-liter diesel is joined with a 6-speed manual transmission giving excellent gas mileage for this day and age, thus leaving plenty of cash in your pocket for more driving!
