Lexus has offered 500 2012 LFA for lucky customers. You might be one of those lucky ones to get your hands on one of these amazing cars if you win the competition with other customers. This special edition is designed to mark the LFA’s entry into Nürburgring 24 Hours race by the coming of this May. What is special about this edition is that if surpasses the regular car in terms of performance.
The Nürburgring package will give additional downforce due to a taller ; a bigger front splitter; and small side fins; and fixed rear spoiler. All these are made from carbon fiber. The suspension will have a sportier calibration, and new multi-spoke wheels are in extra-sticky tires. Add to this high levels of grip, since that we already recorded 1.00 g on the skidpad in a stock LFA.
The 4.8-liter V-10 also earns 10 extra hp, for a total of 562. There has been revision on the six-speed sequential transmission for quicker shifts requiring just 0.15 second.
The special-edition LFA is expected to top out at 202 mph and manage the 0–62 mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds, just like the base car. We recorded a 3.7-second run to 60 mph in our testing of the regular LFA.
One advantage is that buyers can take driving lessons on the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring, in addition to a free one-year pass to drive the track. For serious fans of cars, the cost of the Nürburgring package is quite justifiable, although cost is still unknown and no prices has been released.
