1. Pressure of your tyre.

When your tyre is inflated with the right amount of air it will consume less fuel, hence a safer driving. However, if your tyre is under inflated then more tread touch the surface of the road making the resistance higher, more power will be needed, and eventually you spend more on fuel.

2. Get Rid of the Extra Load

The higher the weight of your car the more fuel it will consume. Try to remove unnecessary items that you might have in the back of your trunk that you probably use once or twice a year!

3. Do Not Speed

When you are in a hurry you need to drive slowly. Not will it only  save your life but it will also save your money. Driving at 70 mph instead of 50 mph can cost you up to 25% more.

4. Bye-bye roof rack

If you are not using the roof rack  anymore, simply take it off. Its presence will  increase resistance  which requires more fuel. If you need to use it once again then putting a little less weight in will also help.

5. Car service on a regular basis

Time will wear out some parts in your car reducing their performance. A regular car service help keep your engine efficient

6. Have a plan

Plan you journey, where do you want to go and how to avoid traffic at each area. Not only will this reduce your traveling miles but will also reduce fuel consumption due to less cold starts.

7. Monitor the traffic

Always keep an eye on the road, once you sense that traffic is a head of you try to reduce your speed instead of braking hard.

8. Use the correct gear

Believe it or not, when you change the gear earlier, it will give you greater fuel efficiency. When you drive at a low rpm less fuel will be used than driving at a higher rpm at the same speed.

9. Avoid racing away from the lights

This will consume more fuel and it will not get you to your destination faster.

10. Switch off unused gadgets

Gadgets are there in your car to use them once you need them, heated seats, air conditioning,heated windscreens all increase the consumption of fuel so you only use them when you need them.

At the end, try considering to buy any car that is more fuel efficient . Moving to a much more modern and fuel efficient engine will save you money in the long term on fuel and road tax offsetting the upfront cost of buying new car.
