The future is here and now, three of the biggest manufacturers in the car industry have launched vehicles with this technology.

This technology is not only awe-inspiring, but it is actually proving to be very useful. Many believe it to be the future of car safety. Perhaps, this is the reason why only three manufacturers have added this technology to their vehicles. It needs to be perfected and the car manufacturers are working along these lines diligently.

Car Manufacturer’s with V-to-V Communication Systems

Right now, Toyota, Mercedes and Volvo have officially added this feature to their vehicles. At first, it was released in their Crown sedan in Japan in 2015. They called it the “Intelligent Transport System” and it works with cars that are fitted with similar technology. Of course, that has some limitations, largely because this technology is not available in every vehicle. An advantage of this technology is that the car fitted with this technology will also receive information about traffic conditions and traffic light systems.

Also read: 5 Advanced Vehicle Safety Technologies

Volvo’s Technology

Volvo co-developed their technology with Ericsson, a Swedish telecom company. With the help of this system, the cars will be able to send signals and warnings to other vehicles with the same technology.

This vehicle-to-vehicle communication will allow you to send road warnings and more. The driver will be able to send and receive warnings about road conditions and any obstacle in the way. Mercedes’ technology is the same.

Volvo has announced to add this technology to all their cars by the end of 2016, which is not that far away. They announced this while they were introducing their Volvo V90 Cross Country vehicle. V90 is said to be the very first Volvo automobile to get this auspicious technology.

After that, Volvo will add this technology to the rest of the 90 series, including V90, S90 and XC90. This is the reason why there are multiple car manufacturers who are working on similar technologies for their vehicles. Among them are renowned manufacturers like Cadillac, Audi and Land Rover.
